Individual Psychotherapy
At the Underthought, therapy begins with an initial meeting (50 minutes). This first encounter offers an opportunity to speak about what brings you to therapy and to consider whether this form of work is appropriate for you. This marks the beginning of the work.
If you decide to continue after the first meeting, sessions are 50 minutes and usually take place once per week, establishing a consistent frame for the work.

Fees
The first meeting (50 minutes) is offered without fee.
If you decide to continue, each subsequent session is

Payment is arranged on the day of the session or in advance.
If cost is a concern, fees can be discussed in relation to individual circumstances.

Session Changes and Cancellations Policy
To maintain consistent care and respect for all clients, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to reschedule or cancel a session.
Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur the half session fee, except in cases of illness or genuine emergency.

Referral and Medicare
You are welcome to begin therapy with or without a referral.
Sessions are offered privately and are not structured within the Medicare rebate system.

Session Availability
Sessions are available from Mondays to Thursdays, with additional availability on Fridays and weekends..
The first meeting (50 minutes) is offered without a fee,
and there is no obligation to continue afterwards.
